Gator Soft Roll-Up Covers: Warranty, Care and What the Sheet Says
Gator's general sheet is the frankest we read. It lists a limited 2-year warranty, warns about no release from inside the bed and tells you what to keep off the vinyl. Buy one if a title names your bed. Skip it if you want a transferable warranty.

The short version
Gator's soft roll-up sheet, part 1119306, lists a limited 2-year warranty on hard parts and 2 years on fabric, non-transferable. It asks for 9/16 and 1/2 in wrenches or sockets. It warns there is no release from inside the bed. Titles name F-150, Tacoma, Ram and Tundra beds. RealTruck also lists a 5-year warranty for the SR1 Pro.

What the sheet says
Tools and parts. 9/16 and 1/2 in wrenches or sockets, spring clamps recommended, and 6 clamps supplied. You clean with isopropyl and fit the foam weather seals. There is a torque warning on the fasteners. Follow the sheet on that.
Safety. No manual release from inside the bed. Never let anyone in the bed with the cover closed. Watch for hot surfaces and pinch points.
Open and closed. Tall cargo means fully rolled open and fastened with both retainer straps. Never drive with it partly open. Cargo must not contact the tarp. Do not roll it into the rear cab window, or stow it against the cab. If it stays open for a long time, re-roll it periodically. See driving with it open.
Care. Clean with mild automotive soap and water and a soft brush. No vinyl conditioners, since they can shrink the vinyl. Keep it free of snow and ice before opening. See how to clean a vinyl cover.
Checks. Check clamps after a week of driving and periodically after that.
Towing. Do not tow the vehicle from the rear with the cover on. It must come off first.
Warranty. Limited 2 years on hard parts and 2 years on fabric, non-transferable.
Which Gator is which
The names get confusing. Titles we read say Gator, Gator ETX and, in RealTruck's article, Gator SR1 Pro. RealTruck calls the SR1 Pro "no-drill, tool-free", says it can go on solo in under an hour, and lists a 5-year warranty. None of that comes from the ETX or Gator soft sheet. So do not carry the warranty across. Check which model the listing is, and the warranty that goes with it.
On Tacoma, RealTruck also mentions the Gator SFX, with hanger brackets. That is a different cover. See deck rails.
Odd points in the titles
Gator's 2019-2025 Ram title stops a year short of its 2019-2026 Ram title, and the only difference is the bed. Its Tundra title runs 2007-2021 at 5 ft 7 in, where Tyger's T1 splits at 2014. And its 2019-2026 Ram 6 ft 4 in title is the only one we read that rules out both a split tailgate and a RamBox. That is worth reading, whatever truck you own. See RamBox and split tailgates.
Alternatives
Tyger has part-specific sheets on many trucks, though no warranty terms we could read. TruXedo has RealTruck's stated warranty on the TruXport Gen 2.
What owners ask
Is the warranty transferable?
Gator's sheet says it is non-transferable: limited 2 years on hard parts and 2 years on fabric. If you are buying used or selling your truck, count on that. RealTruck lists 5 years for the Gator SR1 Pro in its article.
Does the sheet apply to my exact part?
It is a general sheet for the soft roll-up, part 1119306, and not specific to one truck. Our product boxes say that. Check the sheet that ships with your cover in case it differs.
Can I use a vinyl conditioner?
Gator says no, because conditioners can shrink the vinyl. Clean with mild automotive soap and water and a soft brush, it says.
Do I have to remove it to be towed?
Gator's sheet says not to tow the vehicle from the rear with the cover on, and that it must be removed first. Tell a tow driver before they hook up.
