About us
How We Verify Fitment: What We Read and What We Print
Nobody on this site has bolted these covers to a truck, and nothing here was measured in a lab. Every fit statement is copied from an Amazon listing title or a maker's own sheet and marked as such. This page shows what we read and what we could not read.
The short version
We do not derive fit. A fit line on this site repeats what the listing title or the maker's sheet states, with the date we read it. We print load ratings and install details only from maker documents. Where a maker page blocked us, the product says listing data only and it cannot be our pick.
What a fit line means
Each cover on this site has a line starting with "Stated fit". It holds the wording from the Amazon listing title or the maker's sheet. We do not shorten the years, round the bed or add a truck. If the title says "2019-2026 Ram 1500 (Not Fit 19-24 Classic)", that is what you get.
If a title does not name a bed, we add "(no bed length in the title)". That is the one thing we add, and it is there so you notice the gap.
What we read
- Amazon listing titles and categories, pulled on 3 November 2026. Not bullet points and not Amazon's confirm-fit tool.
- Tyger Auto T1 instruction sheets, for parts we could open, listed on each product.
- Gator's general soft roll-up sheet, part 1119306. It is not specific to a truck, and the product box says so.
- Rough Country's hard roll-up manual, general as well.
- RealTruck's articles on roll-up covers and Tacoma deck rails. RealTruck sells BAK and TruXedo.
- Truck makers' documents: Ford's order guide and specifications, Toyota's brochures and press pages, older Ram brochures and press kits, Chevrolet's 2026 trailering chart.
What we could not read
Some pages were blocked or empty when we looked: tygerauto.com, tygercovers.com, Rough Country's product pages, RealTruck's product pages, ford.com specifications, Chevrolet's commercial page and news site, ramtrucks.com specifications and Toyota's Tacoma features page. Several Tyger sheets were missing too, including the 2021-2026 F-150, 2024-2026 Tacoma and 2022-2026 Tundra parts. The 2017-2026 Super Duty sheet is a scan with no readable text.
We do not work around blocks. Those covers say "Listing data only" and take a "Start here" label at most, never a pick.
How we choose a pick
A pick needs a title that names the truck, years and bed, plus a maker document that goes with the product. No exception for a big brand. TruXedo and BAK titles in our data name no bed, so they stay without a pick badge, even though RealTruck says a lot about them.
When sources disagree
We show both. Tyger's Classic years differ between beds. A short bed can show up as 65.6, 66 and 67 inches. MOSTPLUS says "2009-2026 New Body Style" where others split at 2019. We print those next to each other and tell you to ask the seller. We do not settle them by guessing.
What we leave out
- Weight figures that no maker states for that cover.
- Fuel economy claims, because no source we read supports them.
- Claims about how long a cover lasts.
- Customer opinions, star ratings and prices.
What you still need to do
Confirm your year block, your bed and the exclusions on the live listing before you buy. Our date beside each fit line tells you how old our reading is. If you spot a mistake, the contact is in the imprint. How the site makes money is on the disclosure page. Use the measuring guide to get your number.
What owners ask
Did you install these covers on trucks?
No. There are no installs, no road time and no lab measurements behind this site. We compare listing titles, maker instruction sheets and truck makers' documents, and we say which one each statement came from.
Why does every product tell me to check the listing?
Because a listing can change after we read it, and a title is a seller's statement, not a guarantee. The date beside each fit line shows when we read it. The listing is what you are actually buying.
Why are there no star ratings or prices?
Prices change daily, and Amazon's rules limit how they can be shown. We use price classes in words at most. We leave star ratings out too, because we cannot verify them.
Do makers pay for a placement?
No. Nobody can buy a placement here. The site earns a commission through Amazon links when someone buys, and that is disclosed on every page that carries such links.
