BAK Revolver X4s: Hard Rolling Covers Listed by Truck

BAK's Revolver X4s is the hard roll-up people ask about first, and it comes with stated figures. RealTruck lists 400 lbs, a 5-year warranty and a drill-free install. The titles we pulled name years, not beds. So confirm your bed first.

What RealTruck states

RealTruck sells BAK, so this comes from the seller and not from a neutral source.

  • Load. "Weight capacity: 400 lbs."
  • Warranty. 5 years.
  • Install. "Drill-free and straightforward".
  • The lid. Hard covers, it says, put "a solid aluminum barrier" between thieves and cargo.
  • Weight. "Heavier, but not heavy," as a description of hard covers in general.

We have no sheet to set beside this. RealTruck's product pages were empty when we looked. So this is the maker's summary, and nothing more.

Buy it if, skip it if

Buy it if

  • You want a metal lid and a printed load
  • You want a stated warranty
  • You want the whole bed open when it is rolled

Skip it if

  • The title has to name your bed
  • You are shopping on price: it is premium
  • You want a sheet to read before buying

Year blocks tell a story

BAK's titles split in useful ways. The F-150 goes 2015-2020, then 2021-2027. The Ram goes 2009-2023, then 2019-2027. Those two overlap, and neither says Classic. So a 2021 Ram could be in either block. The Tundra goes 2007-2021, then 2022-2027. The Silverado and Sierra go 2014-19, then 2019-27. Again a 2019 is named by both, and neither title says LD. Those are good questions to ask a seller. See Ram and Silverado for why.

On a Tacoma

RealTruck says that on 2016-current Tacomas, BAK's hard folding and roll-up covers mean temporarily removing the deck rails, and reinstalling them with drop brackets. The bulkhead rail comes off temporarily for foam pads. See deck rails.

Questions to ask before you buy

  • Does this listing fit my bed? Give your measured inches.
  • Is this the X4s or another Revolver?
  • Can I have the installation sheet?
  • Does the warranty apply when bought from this seller?
  • If you have a Classic or an LD, which block does it belong to?

Alternatives

Rough Country's hard cover names a bed on the GM and Tacoma, and its manual is readable. The Sentry CT is the other cover RealTruck lists at the same load. If you are not sure you need slats, read soft vs hard. For what a hard roll-up asks on install, see hard roll-ups.

What it means to buy from a title with no bed

Every BAK listing above names a truck and a run of years. None names a bed. So one of two things is going on: the seller offers a bed choice on the listing, or each listing is for one bed and the title just does not say. Either way, the title alone cannot tell you it fits. Open the listing, look for the bed, and if you do not see yours, write to the seller.

What owners ask

Does the Revolver X4s fit a Tacoma?

We did not pull a Revolver X4s title for a Tacoma. RealTruck's Tacoma article mentions Revolver X2 and X4 on 2016-current trucks, with the rails off for the install and refitted with drop brackets. Check with the seller.

What is the X4 TS?

RealTruck lists the X4 TS alongside the X4s, with the same load, warranty and install. We did not pull a TS title by truck. Check with RealTruck or a seller.

Do I need to drill?

RealTruck calls the X4s installation drill-free and straightforward. We could not read a part-specific sheet, so ask for one before you buy.

Truck fit and buying advice

We are the editorial team at rolluptonneaucover.com. We read listing titles, maker install sheets and truck makers' own bed specifications and sort them truck by truck, with sources on every page. Nobody here has bolted these covers to a truck, and nothing was measured in a lab. We say so plainly.
